“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”
- Madiba
South Africa is a diverse and multicultural country, in which we strive to obtain a certain level of focus and compassion in our youth.
We would like to embrace the diversity of the South African population and ignite this passion in our youth by means of communal gathering, social encouragement, entertainment and a deeper understanding of the wonderful sport known as, “CRICKET”.
This course will give you an in-depth understanding of coaching philosophies, not only embracing the sport but offering a practical understanding of modified / innovative coaching techniques.
Let the games begin!
Learning The Fun Way
This course provides insight into the fun-filled world of cricket in an informative and easy way.
This simple, yet undoubtedly beneficial programme comprises basic activity sessions, along with innovative or modified gaming structures suitable for participants of all skill levels.
Maximum Participation
The children need to be active and moving around. Make sure to minimize the amount of time children are standing around waiting for their turn. Ensuring smaller team groups, with more stations will allow for maximum attention and will keep the children more involved during activity sessions.
Modified Activity Sessions
When working with entry level participants, coordinators/coaches should always focus the majority of their sessions on a variety of actual game-based activities, rather than physical training routines. Should skill development be required at this level, it is suggested that it take place during an actual game-based session. In doing this, we allow the children to enjoy the cricket experience, whilst keeping them active for longer.
Implicit Learning
Remember you don’t always have to come up with a new game strategy when teaching the children a skill. By changing just one element during the game session, you could change the entire outcome. Coaches can practice these skill development strategies by modifying hitting zones, ball sizes, team sizes etc.
